RBI Reports Overnight Money Market Volume at ₹6.51 Lakh Crore

The Reserve Bank of India released its money market and liquidity data on July 15, 2026, giving details of overnight market volumes, weighted average rates, RBI operations and reserve positions. The figures were reported in ₹ crore, while rates were given in per cent.

The release, numbered 2026-2027/670, was issued by Ajit Prasad, Deputy General Manager in the RBI’s Communications department. The data is based on information from the Reserve Bank of India and the Clearing Corporation of India Limited, according to the release.

Overnight money market volume

The total overnight segment volume stood at ₹6,51,261.72 crore on a one-leg basis. The weighted average rate for the segment was 5.13 per cent, with the rate range reported between 4.00 per cent and 6.30 per cent.

  • Call money volume was ₹22,662.51 crore, with a weighted average rate of 5.24 per cent and a range of 4.60 per cent to 5.30 per cent.
  • Triparty repo had the largest overnight volume at ₹4,42,650.85 crore. Its weighted average rate was 5.09 per cent, with a range of 5.00 per cent to 5.20 per cent.
  • Market repo volume was ₹1,78,336.51 crore. The weighted average rate was 5.19 per cent, and the range was 4.00 per cent to 5.60 per cent.
  • Repo in corporate bond recorded volume of ₹7,611.85 crore, with a weighted average rate of 5.38 per cent and a range of 5.35 per cent to 6.30 per cent.

Term segment details

In the term segment, notice money volume was ₹60.50 crore. Its weighted average rate was 5.13 per cent, with transactions reported in the range of 4.90 per cent to 5.20 per cent. The RBI defines notice money in this release as uncollateralised transactions of 2 to 14 days tenor.

Term money volume was ₹267.00 crore. No weighted average rate was reported for this item, while the rate range was 5.50 per cent to 5.70 per cent. The release describes term money as uncollateralised transactions of 15 days to one year tenor.

Term triparty repo volume was ₹6,871.50 crore, with a weighted average rate of 5.17 per cent and a range of 5.11 per cent to 5.30 per cent. Term market repo volume stood at ₹469.76 crore, with a weighted average rate of 5.50 per cent. No transaction was reported in repo in corporate bond under the term segment.

RBI liquidity operations

Under the Liquidity Adjustment Facility, Marginal Standing Facility and Standing Deposit Facility, the RBI reported two one-day operations dated July 14, 2026, maturing on July 15, 2026.

  • The Marginal Standing Facility amount was ₹201.00 crore at 5.50 per cent.
  • The Standing Deposit Facility amount was ₹1,59,077.00 crore at 5.00 per cent.

The net liquidity injected from today’s operations was reported at minus ₹1,58,876.00 crore. The RBI’s note states that net liquidity is calculated as repo plus MSF plus SLF minus reverse repo minus SDF. Under that sign convention, the negative figure shows net absorption for the day’s operations.

The Standing Liquidity Facility availed from the RBI was ₹10,083.82 crore. Net liquidity injected from outstanding operations was also ₹10,083.82 crore. Including both today’s and outstanding operations, net liquidity injected was minus ₹1,48,792.18 crore.

Reserve position

Scheduled commercial banks’ cash balances with the RBI stood at ₹7,68,838.88 crore as on July 14, 2026. The average daily cash reserve requirement for the fortnight ending July 15, 2026 was ₹7,98,115.00 crore.

The Government of India surplus cash balance reckoned for auction as on July 14, 2026 was reported at zero. Net durable liquidity was reported as a surplus of ₹4,82,130.00 crore as on June 15, 2026.
