RBI Allots ₹20,100 Crore in State Securities Auction

The Reserve Bank of India released the results of the State Government Securities auction held on August 25, 2026. The auction covered securities from Andhra Pradesh, Gujarat, Haryana, Maharashtra, Punjab, Rajasthan and Tamil Nadu.

The total notified amount was ₹20,100 crore. RBI said competitive bids worth ₹53,804.500 crore were received across the securities. Of this, competitive bids worth ₹18,779.142 crore were accepted. Non-competitive bids worth ₹1,417.244 crore were received, and ₹1,320.858 crore was accepted. The final total allotment matched the notified amount at ₹20,100 crore.

State-wise securities covered in the auction

The auction included re-issued securities as well as securities with stated tenors. Andhra Pradesh raised ₹1,000 crore through Andhra Pradesh SGS 2039 and ₹1,600 crore through Andhra Pradesh SGS 2051. The weighted average yields were 7.6496% and 7.6864%, respectively.

Gujarat raised ₹1,000 crore each through Gujarat SGS 2036 and Gujarat SGS 2041. The cut-off yields were 7.47% for the 2036 security and 7.59% for the 2041 security. Their weighted average yields were 7.4700% and 7.5777%.

Haryana raised ₹1,000 crore through Haryana SGS 2035 and ₹2,000 crore through Haryana SGS 2048. The weighted average yields were 7.5316% for the 2035 security and 7.6860% for the 2048 security.

Maharashtra, Punjab and Rajasthan allotments

Maharashtra had three securities in the auction. Maharashtra SGS 2031 had a notified and allotted amount of ₹1,000 crore, with a weighted average yield of 7.0872%. Maharashtra SGS 2039 had a notified and allotted amount of ₹2,400 crore, with a weighted average yield of 7.6038%. Maharashtra SGS 2049 had a notified and allotted amount of ₹1,600 crore, with a weighted average yield of 7.6837%.

Punjab raised ₹500 crore through the re-issue of 7.02% Punjab SGS 2030 and ₹1,500 crore through the re-issue of 7.62% Punjab SGS 2039. The weighted average yields were 7.2126% and 7.7099%, respectively.

Rajasthan raised ₹1,500 crore through the re-issue of 7.68% Rajasthan SGS 2044 and ₹2,000 crore through the re-issue of 7.65% Rajasthan SGS 2053. The weighted average yields were 7.6915% for the 2044 security and 7.6814% for the 2053 security.

Tamil Nadu securities

Tamil Nadu had three re-issued securities in the auction. The re-issue of 7.49% Tamil Nadu SGS 2036 had a notified and allotted amount of ₹1,000 crore, with a weighted average yield of 7.5280%.

The re-issue of 7.62% Tamil Nadu SGS 2041 had a notified and allotted amount of ₹500 crore. Its weighted average yield was 7.6259%. The re-issue of 7.7% Tamil Nadu SGS 2051 also had a notified and allotted amount of ₹500 crore, with a weighted average yield of 7.6929%.

Bid details from the RBI release

In total, RBI recorded 1,029 competitive bids for the auction. It accepted 371 competitive bids. The non-competitive segment received 155 bids, and all 155 were accepted, though the accepted amount was lower than the total amount bid in that segment.

Among the listed securities, Rajasthan SGS 2053 received competitive bids worth ₹6,070 crore against a notified amount of ₹2,000 crore. Gujarat SGS 2036 received competitive bids worth ₹5,290 crore against ₹1,000 crore notified, while Maharashtra SGS 2031 received ₹5,225 crore in competitive bids against ₹1,000 crore notified.
