The Reserve Bank of India released its daily money market and liquidity operations data on Friday, July 24, 2026. The release covered overnight and term money market volumes, weighted average rates, RBI liquidity operations, and the reserve position of scheduled commercial banks.
The data was reported in ₹ crore, with rates shown in per cent. According to the release, the overnight money market segment recorded a total one-leg volume of ₹6,73,445.78 crore, with a weighted average rate of 5.07 per cent. The rate range for the overnight segment was 4.00 per cent to 5.40 per cent.
Overnight money market activity
Triparty repo formed the largest part of the overnight segment. It recorded a volume of ₹4,72,781.75 crore, with a weighted average rate of 5.02 per cent and a rate range of 4.00 per cent to 5.25 per cent.
Market repo reported a volume of ₹1,80,028.69 crore. Its weighted average rate was 5.19 per cent, while the rate range stood between 4.00 per cent and 5.40 per cent.
Call money had a smaller volume of ₹14,221.94 crore, with a weighted average rate of 5.28 per cent. The rate range for call money was 4.60 per cent to 5.35 per cent.
Repo in corporate bond recorded a volume of ₹6,413.40 crore. Its weighted average rate was 5.38 per cent, with the rate range reported at 5.35 per cent to 5.40 per cent.
Term segment details
In the term segment, notice money recorded a volume of ₹210.00 crore. Its weighted average rate was 5.18 per cent, with a rate range of 5.05 per cent to 5.33 per cent. The RBI note described notice money as uncollateralized transactions of 2 to 14 days tenor.
Term money reported a volume of ₹1,208.00 crore. The release did not show a weighted average rate for this category, while the rate range was 5.50 per cent to 5.80 per cent. Term money relates to uncollateralized transactions of 15 days to one year tenor.
Triparty repo in the term segment recorded a volume of ₹4,222.60 crore, with a weighted average rate of 5.10 per cent. Its rate range was 4.80 per cent to 5.35 per cent. Market repo in the same segment stood at ₹1,447.38 crore, with a weighted average rate of 5.22 per cent and a range of 4.90 per cent to 5.40 per cent. Repo in corporate bond showed no transaction in the term segment.
RBI liquidity operations
Under the RBI’s Liquidity Adjustment Facility, Marginal Standing Facility and Standing Deposit Facility operations, the release showed a one-day MSF amount of ₹483.00 crore at 5.50 per cent. The auction date was Thursday, July 23, 2026, and the maturity date was Friday, July 24, 2026.
The Standing Deposit Facility amount for the same one-day tenor was ₹1,85,102.00 crore at 5.00 per cent. Based on the RBI’s calculation method, net liquidity injected from the day’s operations was reported at minus ₹1,84,619.00 crore. The release specifies that a positive figure indicates injection and a negative figure indicates absorption.
Outstanding variable rate repo operations included ₹7,200.00 crore from a two-day operation dated July 22, 2026, at 5.26 per cent, maturing on July 24. Another ₹34,291.00 crore came from a three-day operation dated July 21, 2026, also at 5.26 per cent and maturing on July 24. A seven-day operation dated July 20, 2026, accounted for ₹72,051.00 crore at 5.26 per cent, with maturity on July 27, 2026.
The Standing Liquidity Facility availed from the RBI was ₹13,955.66 crore. Net liquidity injected from outstanding operations was ₹1,27,497.66 crore. After including the day’s operations, overall net liquidity injected was reported at minus ₹57,121.34 crore.
Reserve position
The release also gave cash reserve figures for scheduled commercial banks. Cash balances with the RBI as on July 23, 2026, stood at ₹7,95,380.61 crore. The average daily cash reserve requirement for the fortnight ending July 31, 2026, was ₹8,15,720.00 crore.
The Government of India surplus cash balance reckoned for auction as on July 23, 2026, was ₹0.00 crore. Net durable liquidity was reported as a surplus of ₹4,99,485.00 crore as on June 30, 2026.
