The Reserve Bank of India released its daily money market and liquidity operations data on July 10, 2026. The figures, published in Press Release 2026-2027/639, give a snapshot of overnight and term money market activity, RBI operations, and reserve positions. Amounts are stated in ₹ crore and rates are in per cent.
The overnight money market segment recorded a total one-leg volume of ₹6,90,802.32 crore. The weighted average rate for the segment was 5.28 per cent, with the reported rate range moving between 4.10 per cent and 5.70 per cent.
Overnight money market activity
Within the overnight segment, triparty repo accounted for the largest volume. The RBI data showed triparty repo volume at ₹4,80,842.85 crore, with a weighted average rate of 5.27 per cent and a rate range of 4.65 per cent to 5.47 per cent.
Market repo volume stood at ₹1,78,345.95 crore. Its weighted average rate was 5.30 per cent, while the reported range was 4.10 per cent to 5.52 per cent.
Call money transactions totalled ₹24,893.22 crore. The weighted average rate in this segment was 5.34 per cent, with rates ranging from 4.60 per cent to 5.49 per cent.
Repo in corporate bond recorded a volume of ₹6,720.30 crore. The weighted average rate was 5.38 per cent, and the rate range was 5.30 per cent to 5.70 per cent.
Term segment details
In the term segment, notice money volume was ₹89.00 crore. The weighted average rate was 5.15 per cent, and the range was 4.70 per cent to 5.30 per cent. The RBI note defines notice money as uncollateralised transactions with a tenor of 2 to 14 days.
Term money volume was ₹661.00 crore. No weighted average rate was reported for this category, while the rate range was 5.50 per cent to 5.75 per cent. The RBI note defines term money as uncollateralised transactions with a tenor from 15 days to one year.
Triparty repo in the term segment stood at ₹3,195.00 crore, with a weighted average rate of 5.28 per cent and a range of 5.10 per cent to 5.40 per cent. Market repo volume was ₹473.31 crore, with a weighted average rate of 5.51 per cent and a range of 5.45 per cent to 5.60 per cent. Repo in corporate bond reported no transaction in this segment.
RBI liquidity operations
Under the Liquidity Adjustment Facility, Marginal Standing Facility and Standing Deposit Facility data, the RBI reported a variable rate repo operation auctioned on July 9, 2026, with a one-day tenor and maturity on July 10, 2026. The amount was ₹46,729.00 crore, with a current or cut-off rate of 5.26 per cent.
The Marginal Standing Facility amount was ₹78.00 crore for the same one-day tenor, with a rate of 5.50 per cent. The Standing Deposit Facility amount was ₹1,67,785.00 crore, at 5.00 per cent.
Net liquidity injected from the day’s operations was reported at minus ₹1,20,978.00 crore. In the RBI’s format, a negative figure indicates absorption. The Standing Liquidity Facility availed from the RBI was ₹10,083.82 crore. Net liquidity injected from outstanding operations was ₹10,083.82 crore.
Taking outstanding operations together with the day’s operations, net liquidity injected was minus ₹1,10,894.18 crore. The RBI states that net liquidity is calculated as repo plus MSF plus SLF minus reverse repo minus SDF.
Reserve position
The cash balances of scheduled commercial banks with the RBI stood at ₹7,87,542.58 crore as on July 9, 2026. The average daily cash reserve requirement for the fortnight ending July 15, 2026, was ₹7,98,115.00 crore.
The Government of India surplus cash balance reckoned for auction as on July 9, 2026, was ₹46,729.00 crore. Net durable liquidity was reported as a surplus of ₹4,82,130.00 crore as on June 15, 2026.
