Prime Video India has announced a multi-year distribution partnership with Korean entertainment company CJ ENM, adding a large set of Korean shows and films to its catalogue for viewers in India.
Under the agreement, more than 100 Korean titles will be made available on Prime Video in India over the next two years. The lineup includes 26 new releases along with several existing titles from CJ ENM’s library.
The platform has also confirmed that the upcoming titles will be offered with English subtitles. Selected content will also be available with Hindi, Tamil and Telugu dubs, making the slate accessible to a wider set of Indian viewers.
What the Prime Video and CJ ENM partnership includes
The India-focused deal builds on Prime Video’s existing global partnership with CJ ENM. The new arrangement is aimed at bringing more Korean content to Indian subscribers through a planned slate spread across two years.
The first title in the new lineup will be Yumi’s Cells Season Three. Prime Video has also named upcoming series such as The Legend of Kitchen Soldier, My Bias, My Boss and Filing for Love as part of the slate.
Alongside these new additions, the platform will make several existing CJ ENM titles available to viewers. These include Dear X, Law in the City, Study Group, My Dearest Nemesis, Search: WWW and the first two seasons of Yumi’s Cells.
The collection covers multiple genres, including romance, thriller, fantasy, drama and action. The titles feature actors such as Kim You-jung, Lee Jong-suk, Park Ji-hoon and Cha Woo-min.
Prime Video cites rising interest in Korean content
Shilangi Mukherji, Director and Head of SVOD Business at Prime Video India, said the collaboration follows the growing popularity of Korean stories among Indian audiences. She said Prime Video is building on its global relationship with CJ ENM and the earlier deal announced last year, with a sharper focus on India.
Mukherji added that Korean content has seen strong popularity across Prime Video markets, helped by stories and characters that travel across borders. According to her, the new slate is part of Prime Video’s effort to make Korean titles more accessible to viewers in India.
Manish Menghani, Director and Head of Content Licensing at Prime Video India, said the deal is linked to what customers are watching on the service. He described CJ ENM as one of Korea’s biggest entertainment studios and said the expanded deal follows continued demand for Korean content.
Jangho Seo, Executive Vice President of Platform Division at CJ ENM, said India is an important market for taking Korean storytelling to more viewers. He said Prime Video’s reach in India and its focus on local audiences make it a suitable partner for CJ ENM’s content.
Availability for Prime members in India
The new Korean titles will be available to Prime members in India at no additional cost as part of their existing subscription. Prime Video has not shared a complete release calendar in the announcement, but the rollout is planned over the next two years.
With this agreement, Indian subscribers will get access to both new Korean releases and previously available CJ ENM titles in one place. The addition of Hindi, Tamil and Telugu dubs for the upcoming slate is also likely to help viewers who prefer watching international content in Indian languages.
