Govinda has announced his return to films with Roopa, a project he is also producing. The actor shared the update at a press conference, where he unveiled the film’s first poster and introduced newcomer Rani Swarankar as the female lead.

Govinda speaks about returning with Roopa
At the press conference, Govinda reflected on the difficult phase he has faced in his career. He said people had repeatedly assumed that he would no longer be seen in films, but he kept looking for a way to restart.
“Maybe it was destiny that I was written off so many times. People kept saying, ‘Now he won’t appear in films anymore.’ But I always started again. I pray to God that this film achieves what I have envisioned, something people may not even imagine, and works its magic,” Govinda said.
While he did not reveal the full storyline of Roopa, the actor said the film has been made with younger viewers in mind. He described it as a film that he hopes will encourage the audience to believe in their ambitions.
“This film is especially for youngsters. When they watch it in theatres, I hope it inspires them to dream and believe that those dreams can come true. Beyond that, I won’t speak about spirituality,” he added.
Rani Swarankar introduced as the leading lady
One of the key parts of the announcement was the introduction of Rani Swarankar, who will be seen as the leading lady in Roopa. Govinda presented her at the event while unveiling the first poster of the film.

Govinda recalled that he signed 14 films in a single week and said that period led to 14 years of superstardom. He also mentioned his term as a Member of Parliament in the 14th Lok Sabha.
The actor then linked the number to his recent struggle. “After that, I went through a 14-year struggle before returning to films. This time, however, I didn’t want to wait another five years. I told myself that I would start again. Now, I hope this marks the beginning of a new journey,” he said.
