The Reserve Bank of India has announced an auction of Government of India Treasury Bills worth a total notified amount of ₹24,000 crore. The auction is scheduled for Wednesday, July 01, 2026, and the settlement date will be Thursday, July 02, 2026.
According to the RBI press release, the auction will cover three Treasury Bill tenors: 91-day, 182-day and 364-day. The notified amount for the 91-day Treasury Bill is ₹9,000 crore. The 182-day Treasury Bill carries a notified amount of ₹8,000 crore, while the 364-day Treasury Bill has a notified amount of ₹7,000 crore.

The sale will follow the terms and conditions specified in the Government of India’s General Notification F.No.4(2)-B(W&M)/2018 dated March 26, 2025, as amended from time to time.
Who can participate
The RBI said State Governments, Union Territories with legislature, eligible Provident Funds in India, designated Foreign Central Banks, and any person or institution specified by the Bank in this regard can participate on a non-competitive basis. The allocation for these participants will be outside the notified amount.
Individuals can also participate on a non-competitive basis as retail investors. For retail investors, the allocation will be limited to a maximum of 5 percent of the notified amount. Individual investors can place bids under the non-competitive scheme through the RBI Retail Direct portal.
Bidding method and timings
The auction will be price-based and will use the multiple price method. Bids have to be submitted in electronic format on the Reserve Bank of India’s Core Banking Solution, known as the E-Kuber system.
For competitive bids, the bidding window on July 01, 2026 will be open from 10:30 am to 11:30 am. For non-competitive bids, the window will be open from 10:30 am to 11:00 am.

The results of the auction will be announced on the same day. Successful bidders will have to make payment on Thursday, July 02, 2026.
Physical bids only if system fails
The RBI said physical bids will be accepted only in the event of system failure. In such cases, physical bids must be submitted to the Public Debt Office before the auction timing ends and in the prescribed form. The form is available on the RBI website.
