The Ministry of Statistics and Programme Implementation (MoSPI), in collaboration with MyGov, has announced the winners of the Quiz on the National Household Income Survey (HIS). The winner announcement was published on the MyGov Blog for the quiz linked to the National Household Income Survey 2026.
A total of 16 participants have been selected as winners. The list includes the first prize winner, two second prize winners, three third prize winners, and ten consolation prize winners. The announcement includes each winner’s rank or prize category, MyGov user ID, and name.
The quiz was organised as an awareness activity around the National Household Income Survey. The purpose was to help citizens understand the importance of household income data and the role such information plays in official statistics, policy making, and national development.
Why the quiz was held
The National Household Income Survey 2026 is intended to collect reliable and comprehensive information on household income across India. Household income data can help build a clearer picture of how income is distributed and how families support their needs. Such data is also useful for public planning because it gives policymakers a broader evidence base.
Income-related information is sensitive. For that reason, public awareness is important before and during a survey of this kind. The quiz gave citizens a simple way to learn why income data is collected, how official statistics support governance, and why informed participation matters.
According to the MyGov announcement, the quiz received participation from citizens across the country. The response was described as a sign of public interest in official statistical initiatives and their connection with governance.
