According to the announcement, the competition was open from 1 February 2026 to 15 February 2026. Participants were invited to submit a painting on the Waste to Wealth theme. Along with the artwork, each participant also had to provide a brief description explaining the idea, message, or vision behind the painting.

The theme focused on presenting creative ideas around turning waste into useful resources. In this context, “Waste to Wealth” refers to the idea that discarded material can be reused, recycled, redesigned, or otherwise converted into something valuable. The painting format allowed participants to express this idea visually, while the written description helped explain how the submission connected to the theme.

Participation on MyGov

The announcement states that the competition received 1,137 entries on the MyGov platform. MyGov is used for citizen participation in government campaigns, contests, consultations, and public engagement activities. For this competition, participants used the platform to submit their entries during the specified fortnight.

After the submission window closed, entries were shortlisted. The shortlisted submissions were then reviewed on two stated points: the quality of the painting and the relevance of the submission to the Waste to Wealth theme. This means the selection was not based only on artistic presentation; the connection between the artwork and the campaign idea was also considered.

Winner list

Based on the review of shortlisted entries, three winners were selected. The announcement lists the winners by position along with the CID details shown for each entry.

  • First position: CID 138489790, Ritika_12057
  • Second position: CID 138485632, Shaikh Alfisha mhefooz Ahemad
  • Third position: CID 138451829, Gosavi Chiranjiv Digambar

MeitY and MyGov congratulated the three winners and encouraged citizens to continue taking part in similar activities. The announcement highlights the final result of the competition and records the number of entries received during the campaign period.

What participants were asked to submit

The competition asked participants to submit an original painting based on the Waste to Wealth theme. The required description was important because it gave participants space to explain the thought behind the image. For example, a painting could show reuse of household waste, recycling, cleanliness, resource conservation, or another idea linked to converting waste into value. The written note helped reviewers understand the participant’s interpretation of the theme.

The announcement does not mention any further round of selection, prize details, or separate instructions for the winners. It confirms the competition dates, the total number of entries received, the basis of review, and the final three selected winners.

The result also reflects the role of public participation in campaign-based activities such as Swachhata Pakhwada. By using a painting competition, the organisers invited citizens to engage with the cleanliness and resource-use message in a simple visual format. The winning entries were selected from the submissions received on MyGov during the stated competition period.
