Actor Mohammed Zeeshan Ayyub has clarified that he is not associated with the upcoming Ajay Devgn-starrer Chauhaan, after his voice was heard in the film’s teaser. The actor shared a public note on social media, saying that he had recorded one line for the makers months ago, but was not told how it would be used.
His statement came after discussion around the teaser and earlier reports that his voice had been removed from updated promotional material. Zeeshan said he objected after watching the teaser and understanding the context in which his line had appeared.
What Zeeshan Ayyub said about the teaser
In his note, Zeeshan said that a film teaser had been released a few weeks earlier with an opening line in his voice. He wrote that he wanted to put it on record that he was "not part of the film in any capacity".
The actor explained that he was asked to dub a line a few months ago without any reference. According to him, he agreed because he knew the makers personally and recorded the line in good faith. He said he did not ask for more details at the time.
Zeeshan added that after the teaser was released, he saw the context in which the line had been used and asked the filmmakers to remove his voice. He said that after his strong objection, the makers removed the voice from the teaser fifteen days earlier.
Why the clarification was issued
The clarification followed online discussion about Chauhaan and speculation about Zeeshan’s connection with the project. The teaser had initially opened with narration in his voice, which led some viewers to assume that he was involved with the film.
The actor also faced online trolling after the teaser was noticed. His statement was aimed at clearing his position and making it clear that he had no role in the film, either as an actor or in any other capacity.
Although Zeeshan did not name Chauhaan directly in his note, the timing and details made it widely understood that he was referring to the Ajay Devgn film. Reports around ten days earlier had also claimed that his voice had been removed from the teaser.

In the final part of his note, Zeeshan said that his clarification should settle his position as an artist who would not be part of such a project. He also said that attention should remain on the present situation in the country, referring to young students protesting on the streets.
